Ocean View's Fall Calendar: Brewery Events and Local Dining

Bethany Beach has a boardwalk anniversary this year. Ocean City has a fifty-year-old arts festival that shuts down the Inlet lot for four days. In Ocean View, the fall calendar includes events at a working brewery a few blocks from Town Hall.

Ocean View's municipal calendar has a civic focus: the town's own published schedule for this stretch of the year is a September 8 council meeting, a September 22 workshop, an October 13 council meeting, and an October 27 workshop. Those four public sessions are where the town takes up its budget, bonds and ordinances. The brewery's events page lists social programming, serving a different purpose from the town's schedule.

Four Events, One Kitchen

Ocean View Brewing sits at the center of the town's fall in a way that has less to do with beer and more to do with programming. From September 24 through September 27, the brewery hosted OceanFest: Passport to Germany, a four-day stretch built around a German-inspired beer dinner on opening night. The dinner was a ticketed, four-course menu paired with the brewery's own craft beers, priced at $78 a seat.

A week later, on October 1, the calendar turns to Signed & Brewed, a four-course beer dinner built around American Sign Language, with seasonal dishes paired against the house lineup. Then from October 7 through 11, the brewery runs Bay Banter & Brews, an oyster week built around a specialty oyster menu, a release of an Oyster Stout, and appearances from local oyster growers. The season closes out in January with a Dine & Donate for the Southern Delaware Education Foundation, on January 11.

It's a sequence of dated programming from a single kitchen, with events listed from September through January.

Head Chef Maggie Williamson runs the menu around local farmers and seasonal ingredients rather than a fixed rotation. The brewery's fall program includes an oyster week featuring local growers, a German-inspired beer dinner, and a dinner focused on American Sign Language.

Here's the full run, in order:

  • September 24 to 27: OceanFest: Passport to Germany, including a $78 four-course German beer dinner on the 24th
  • October 1: Signed & Brewed, a four-course ASL-focused beer dinner
  • October 7 to 11: Bay Banter & Brews, an oyster week with a special menu, local oyster growers, and an Oyster Stout release
  • January 11, 2027: Dine & Donate for the Southern Delaware Education Foundation

What the Town's Own Notices Actually Contain

Ocean View's public notices page includes bond ordinance filings, a new tax rate stabilization trust fund chapter, a cable franchise clarification with Mediacom, and a mayor's welcome message. The town also runs a Summer Concert Series and a Yoga in the Park series under the gazebo. These civic notices and programs sit alongside the brewery's fall lineup as different parts of Ocean View's calendar.

Ocean View Brewing adds a series of themed events to the local calendar. Residents can consult the town's channels for civic information and the brewery's ticket page for event details.

The Rest of the Table

Ocean View's dining scene outside the brewery has its own steadiness, and it's worth naming because none of it is new or trend-driven. Ocean View Restaurant, on Atlantic Avenue, has been serving home-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner for more than thirty years, no reservations needed before dinner, a happy hour that runs most afternoons. It's the kind of place that doesn't need a fall event calendar because it never stopped being the town's default answer to "where do we eat."

A few minutes away, Ocean View Seafood runs carryout-only, no dining room, no frills, and has built a following among people who've been coming to the area for summers at a time and treat it as their only stop for local catch. Around both of those anchors sits a small but specific seafood-forward cluster that regularly shows up on local dining lists: Northeast Seafood Kitchen, Bluecoast Seafood Grill and Raw Bar, Captain Mac's Fish House & Seafood Market, and Fin & Claw.

Ocean View's fall events and year-round dining options offer different ways to experience the town across the seasons.

Why This Matters More Than It Looks

None of this is about real estate. It's about what it means to already live somewhere. Ocean View's calendar this season includes four named events listed on the brewery's events page, spanning September through January. Alongside the town's municipal calendar, they offer one view of local life.

If you're already checking that brewery calendar every few weeks, you know how it fits into the town's broader calendar.
